So the real question isn’t simply whether to get filler. It’s whether the person performing the treatment is thinking about your whole face—or just the area you pointed to.

What Can Filler Do?
Dermal fillers restore lost volume, soften deeper folds and bring facial features into better balance. They can add subtle shape to the lips, restore structure through the cheeks, define the chin and jawline, and soften folds around the mouth. But the area bothering you isn’t always the area that should be treated—the folds around your mouth, for example, may be better addressed by restoring the cheek above them.

Will I Look Overdone?
Overfilled faces are almost never one treatment gone wrong. They’re usually the result of adding a little more at each visit, over years, without anyone stepping back to look at the whole face. We plan for where you want to be in two years, not just for today’s appointment, and we would rather do less and have you come back than fill you to the ceiling on your first visit.

Is Dermal Filler Safe?
Dermal filler has a strong safety record when it is administered by a qualified medical professional with extensive knowledge of facial anatomy. We use only FDA-approved products and keep hyaluronidase on site to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler if necessary.

Most hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. We keep hyaluronidase on site.
Collagen-stimulating fillers are not dissolved in the same way, which is one reason product selection and conservative treatment planning matter. Before treatment, we’ll explain what we’re recommending, why we chose it and whether it can be reversed.

By the syringe. Each one holds 1 mL, about a fifth of a teaspoon. You pay for the number of syringes used, so the total depends on the area and how much volume you've lost. Typical price: $600 to $800 per syringe. Radiesse is priced by the vial rather than the syringe, because it builds your own collagen over months rather than adding volume on the day.

Where we use filler and where we don't
"Lips are the obvious one. Cheeks are the one people underestimate, because lost volume in the midface is usually what's reading as tired.
The folds around the mouth are where whole-face thinking matters most. People point at the line and want me to fill the line. Often the real fix is restoring the cheek above it. Jawline and chin do more for a profile than most people expect.
There's plenty filler can't do, and I'll tell you when we've hit that. It doesn't improve skin quality, it doesn't fix lines caused by movement, and it can only give a slight lift to skin that has genuinely descended. Real laxity is the important one: filler can offer a little support, but past a certain point it adds weight faster than it adds lift, which is the opposite of what you want.
Every filler I use is hyaluronic acid, which means it can be dissolved. If you don't like it, or something shifts, we can reverse it. That's why I reach for it. Each one has its own strengths, so I'll always tell you which one I'm using and why."
